So the cerebral side today has been reading the hair book where hair is fashion and fashion is hair, where the relationship is investigated in detail in this timely book. Hair and Fashion considers both the historical development of this relationship and its contemporary significance, focusing on key moments from the 1920s bob to the long-haired hippie look of the 1960s and the more contemporary Hoxton Fin. The role of colour for hair and its cultural meanings have become increasingly important in the twenty-first century, an era in which most women have dyed their hair at least once, and Hair and Fashion also looks closely at the role of the blonde, brunette and redhead in popular culture. Trust mr it's worth it!
Even here at Stylemojo we need the occasional helping hand every now and again to bring out our inner bombshell. The Bombshell Manual of Style is the prefect reference to maintain the look on a practical and fun level. It includes lots of little-known facts about real-life Bombshells such as Elizabeth Taylor, and of course, Marilyn Monroe. Everything from what kind of perfume does a Bombshell wear? - What's in a Bombshell's handbag? - What kinds of footwear do Bombshells prefer? And even how to throw a proper temper tantrum... Mariah, Mariah ... are you there dear?
Okay so we're taking liberties here, this book is not really strictly fashion. The Building Of Luxury provides an interesting insight to how Kyojiro Hata, who joined LV in 1976, developed Louis Vuitton into the most sought after brand in Japan.
It really is an amazing read of how a business was built upon the foundation of a strong brand with strong integrity. The book is published by Assouline which has some great fashion books available.

With 2 less than 2 weeks to Christmas, but still plenty of time to deliver, Amazon has some scrummy glossies to get you out of a present tight spot.
Some of them have been around for a while, such as "A Passion for Shoes" by Emma Boyd, and the collection of "Manolo Blahnik Drawings" that was put together by the man himself and Anna Wintour among others. The thing about these coffee table tombs is that you would never buy them for yourself but you know you would love to own them.
But to cut to the chase, for anyone who I might know that is scratching around and considering some ghastly basket of products that will give me a rash, my ultimate favorite has got to be "A Guide to Elegance: For Every Woman Who Wants to Be Well and Properly Dressed on All Occasions". This gem is an amazing reprint of a 50’s style bible by Genevieve Antoine-Dariaux and I love it. While I know that I have none of the grace, serenity, time or patience to be "50s Elegant" it could make a striking impact on those new years resolutions! www.amazon.co.uk
