So news hit last week that Monsoon are taking Primark to Court over 6 items that they have allegedly ripped off from the their summer collection.

Now, I am seriously in a bit of a quandary over this one. You see, in my other life I am scaling the dizzy heights of design, and I would be the most angriest person in angry land if someone was taking my desirable objects of beauty (I may trademark that!) and sending them to some sweatshop to make cheap copies and big profits.

However saying that, is the realm of throw away fashion not all about dissemination of design? The high end High Street rips off the catwalks by changing a button here and there and covering up any bits of flesh we, as mere mortals, may not be able to show off like Gisele.

So why shouldn't the bargain basement end of the high street pinch off the top end if, they are, after all just pinching off someone else? Those catwalk guru's are, lets face it, probably re-hashing a time gone by and pillaging the local second hand stores for inspiration!
